1. What is a personal chef?
- A personal chef is someone who comes into your home to prepare delicious home cooked meals for your dining pleasure. The personal chef takes care of the grocery shopping, cooking, and best of all, cleans everything up so you don’t have to worry about doing the dishes. 2. Do you have to cook meals in my home?
- Due to health department regulations, food must be prepared in either a commercial kitchen or in the home. By cooking in your home we can offer you a wide variety of menu choices, as well as specifically tailor your meals to your needs. 3. Do I have to give you a key?
- We let the choice up to you so you can choose the way that makes you feel most comfortable. You can also pick days when you know someone will be home, or we can arrange it that we arrive before you go to work. [Back to Top]
4. What areas do you cover?
- We cover most areas in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Camp Hill. More than a 40 minute travel will be evaluated on a case by case basis and may incur additional charges. [Back to Top]
5. What types of foods do you specialize in?
- All meals prepared by My Chef Du Jour are custom-created to suite the individual tastes of each client. We have a large and varied recipe list that encorporates many different types and kinds of foods. Because each meal plan is custom created, we can also handle any food allergies and dietary restrictions that you may have. [Back to Top]
6. Do I have to sign a contract?
- My Chef Du Jour, Inc. will give you a write-up of the meal plan, which will contain any dietary restrictions or preferences that you may have. We will also setup a date and time for us to come to your house and cook for you. While you are not obligated to stay with our service, we do have an agreement that is signed by both parties just so we're all on the same page. [Back to Top]
7. Will all my meals be frozen?
- Your meals will be stored in your freezer unless otherwise requested. On the day that we cook, feel free to let us know if there is a dish that you would like us to leave in the fridge for you to eat that night. [Back to Top]
